MRS e-Commerce Year Round Event Planning
Time line for setting up and maintaining a year round event Internet presence.
At least one month prior to this year's event (example: "Asthma Walk 2001"),
set up next year's event (example: "Asthma Walk 2002")
in DataTrack and in MRS e-Commerce.
1. In MRS e-Commerce of next year's event, example: "Asthma Walk 2002":
- In the "Event setup/Modification":
- Event name to be displayed (example: "Asthma Walk 2002")
- Scheduled event date ("Asthma Walk 2002" event date)
- Event registration start date (first day to register and sponsor a participant for "Asthma Walk 2002" - at least one month before "Asthma Walk 2001" event date)
- Event registration end date (last day to register for the "Asthma Walk 2002" - usually the day before the "Scheduled event date" - this can be changed if event fills up earlier)
- Event Close date (the last day to sponsor a participant in the "Asthma Walk 2002" - usually one month after the "Scheduled event date")
- Edit the rest of the MRS e-Commerce "Asthma Walk 2002" site (with as much info as you currently know; some info can be "TBA") and/or turn off everything except: home page; registration; sponsorship; and participant's login.
- Change the "Current web status" to "Active".
2. In MRS e-Commerce of this year's event, example: "Asthma Walk 2001":
- In the "Event setup/Modification":
- Select an event to be redirected to, for all future requests to this event (select the "Asthma Walk 2002" you have just set up)
- In the "Website design" -> "Template customization Step2" -> "Additional links on the left menu":
- Add a link to the "Asthma Walk 2002".
